Process:

Put enough cupcake batter in each of the paper liners to cover the bottom. Add about 1/2 of a teaspoon of the cinnamon/melted butter/brown sugar mixture to each cupcake, swirl with a toothpick, then cover with batter until cupcake liners are at least 2/3 full.

Bake according to package instructions. Transfer to a wire rack so they can cool while you're making the frosting.

Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting:

8 ounces cream cheese (room temp)
1/2 stick butter (room temp)
5 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
*We also used 1 packet of the “cinnamon roll” mix-ins for the frosting but you could use plain cinnamon instead.

Cream together butter and cream cheese. Add powdered sugar slowly, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy.

Frost cupcakes, then sprinkle cinnamon on top!

Then, the best part…
