When searching for the perfect snack or light lunch, you want it to be low calorie, and high in protein. If you're eating a snack, one or two from the list will be perfect. For a lunch, combine a handful of them. MOST of these snacks are healthy, but some are indulgent. Remember to check labels, and eat in moderation. :)

Low Calorie Snacks

1. 4 oz low-fat cottage cheese
2. hard boiled eggs
3. raw almonds
4. shelled edamame
5. non-fat Greek Yogurt
6. 1/2 cup canned tuna (in water)
7. hummus
8. Laughing Cow cheese
9. carrots dipped in hummus or yogurt
10. popcorn (check labels!)
11. pumpkin seeds
12. smoked salmon
13. rice cakes (check labels!)
14. dark chocolate (moderation!)
15. oatmeal
16. Kashi Go Lean cereal
17. sardines
18. tofu bites
19. baked chickpeas

22. egg salad (make with mustard)

26. beans (watch sodium)
27. soup (check calorie/fat/sodium content!)

33. arugula (for your salad – top with hard boiled eggs!)

  1. Good list. My problem is we buy these 90 calorie Lemon Bars at Costco..and I usually can’t stop at one. So I always end up eating more than once. Oops!

  3. Excellent and helpful list. I’ve always been slim, but after menopause, I put on some weight. I used to eat mango every single day, but have started watching all sugar intake, so I only eat it twice a week now. It’s still a thrill. Thanks for this post.
