Follow these tips to take perfect beach photos! Heading to the beach? Maybe visiting San Diego? We just got back from our vacation and while I didn’t have time to take great photos, I had a blast snapping them anyway.
If this was a “perfect” photo, the girls would have stepped back a bit so I could’ve gotten a clearer shot of the water in front of them.
How to Take Perfect Beach Photos
1. Water reflects light, so when the light is harsher, your photos are going to suffer.
2. Watch out for random people that might end up in the background. The beach is rarely bare, so try to find a more secluded section and go early when not as many folks are there. You’ll still have the joggers and surfers, but not as many.
3. Keep an eye on your background. We kept getting tons of dirty looking kelp in the background of our photos. Because these were just funny photos, it wasn’t a huge deal – but if you’re trying to take perfect beach photos, you will need to pay more attention.
4. Use a polarizing filter. This tip came from my favorite photography site, and it’s super helpful!
5. Have fun! The reason all of our photos are perfect beach photos? Because we had fun shooting them!
