How to Homeschool with Play Dough

Because we're reluctant homeschoolers, it's even more important for us to make things fun. I know most homeschoolers do anyway, but it's just one way for us to actually look forward to it each day. :)

How to Homeschool With Play Dough

First, make your own play dough. Why? Well, because it's cheaper (check out this $138 set! AH!) … and if it gets all mixed up, it doesn't hurt as much when it costs less. ;) You can also buy tools for playing with play dough, but I prefer to use regular ol' kitchen utensils.

Easy Play Dough Recipe

1/2 cup salt
1 cup water
1 cup flour
2 tbs cream of tartar
1 tablespoon oil
3 drops food coloring

Mix all ingredients together in a medium sized saucepan, stir over low/medium heat until dough is the right consistency. Allow to cool before storing in a plastic bag.

You can also use natural dyes.

  1. Kids really enjoy homeschooling with play dough. Its interesting to know the recipe to make a play dough. Instead of using the play dough available outside, we can make a good one using the simple kitchen items. Great work!!
