Slap Dash Fitness Ambassadors do DVD and Fitness Reviews for me. I post their opinions, and then mine at the end of the post if it’s something I’ve tried! I send them the DVDs to try, and they give me their honest opinions. Leave comments telling us what YOU think of the DVD as well.
Hey, it’s Ali! I’m the newest Slap Dash Fitness Ambassador and am here to tell you about my
Yoga for Beginners and Beyond Review
Life is sometimes very stressful, especially with a recently mobile toddler running around the house. With stress comes tension, and that’s the last thing any of us need. I have used Yoga for Beginners & Beyond for a couple years now and I absolutely adore it. It comes with three full length DVDs and a bonus thirty minutes on how to meditate featuring the Dalai Lama.
The three DVDs are, Yoga for Stress Relief, AM/PM Yoga for Beginners, and Essential Yoga for Inflexible People. All three are done with yoga instructor Barbara Benagh. Her calm presence and infectious optimism make all the workouts a joy. The one I chose to do for the review is part of the AM/PM yoga DVD. Each section has different length workouts to choose from; the AM yoga has six different workouts to choose from ranging from 15 to 35 minutes, and the PM yoga has five workouts to choose from ranging from 10 to 40 minutes. I did the thirty minute PM yoga called Unwinding Muscle Tension.
Through the thirty-minute session you are encouraged to let go of the stress of the day and relax, releasing tension through controlled breathing and pretty simple yoga poses – some are even modified if you are having trouble. It’s set up on a beautiful beach with serene music in the background, which thankfully wasn’t distracting as some of them can be. Since this is an interactive series where you can pick your level and the time of your workout it is for both beginners and old pros alike. I would only caution to consult your physician if you are pregnant before starting this routine. As with all yoga practices the poses are not supposed to hurt. If at any time it does hurt, immediately stop the pose.
With all of this being said, I would give this DVD set five out of five stars every time. You can mix and match so you get a different workout each time and with so many time options you can’t say you don’t have time to do it. You can purchase this DVD set on Amazon for $18.96. In between the three DVDs there are over forty easy to follow routines, get up and get moving!
