1 c shortening
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4 Tbsp evaporated milk
generous dash salt
Mix at medium speed for exactly 3 minutes.

This is totally awesome. I love vintage recipes. In fact I have a book full of them and I use them more frequently than I do more popular recipes. I have to laugh when a recipe says USE LARD…what’s funnier is I actually have it in my pantry! (I only use it for pie crust because the best piecrust is made with lard.
I’ve never used lard! lol
