7 Simple Ways to Earn Money With Your Blog
So you want to earn some money from your blog, but you're just not sure how to get started? First, you need to make sure you're using amazing images. Earning money at home can be both rewarding and stressful. While blogging isn't the only way to earn money from home, it's definitely one of the best I've found. If you need help starting a blog, feel free to contact me. I offer consultations for as little as $30 and have helped dozens of folks start their own blog and work from home.
If you have a well-established blog already, consider signing up for Linqia. I made $300+ on my last campaign, and it was super simple!
7 Simple Ways to Earn Money With Your Blog
Sell your body. Well, not your body exactly. I just wanted to make sure you were paying attention. Sell your brain! Are you great at networking? Are you amazing at expanding your social media presence? Consider selling your services on your blog!
Use your blog as your portfolio to land other jobs. Are you a stylist, photographer, or designer? Do you create jewelry, or even a digital product? Showcase your talents by publishing a portfolio on your blog. Display your work on a page of its own, inside your blog, or create a separate website if you have the time.
Join an Ad Network. While I don't personally recommend Adsense, there are other networks like IZEA, Glam, Burst, and BlogHer that can bring in income. The key component in using ad networks is making sure your blog has the traffic. Need help getting traffic? Check out my 99 Ways to Increase Blog Traffic.
Teach something. Most of the time, blogs teach things for free. But sometimes there are amazing tidbits of information floating around in your head that you can compile as a seminar or an ebook. Education is invaluable and people love attending webinars! If you are an expert on something, offer a teaser to your readers. When they show interest, direct them to a sign up page for your class/book/etc.
I use my expertise as a virtual assistant to offer affordable training to others. Check it out here: VA Rock Star Training.
If you aren't quite ready to write an ebook or teach a webinar, consider writing articles for Squidoo. I wrote a handful of articles at the beginning of 2012, and then got busy and forgot about them. But each month, I received a deposit in my Paypal account for commissions earned! The Examiner is another website that you can write for and earn money with, but it takes a bit more work.
Write sponsored Posts. Most of us are familiar with sponsored posts, but there are many ways to do them so keep that in mind! Networks like Social Fabric and Mom Central offer campaigns that are fun, and they pay well. Hooking up with a network is a great way to get your feet wet. Expand your sponsored posts by contacting businesses and offering your services. Are you a great writer? Also check out Hiremymom.com and writerscash.com.
Sell ads. I'm not just talking about sidebar ads. Get creative! Have a “sponsor of the month” and use Passionfruit Ads if you aren't sure on the technical stuff. Also, if you are into vlogging, selling video ads is HUGE!
Use affiliate marketing. Don't get spammy, don't include 15 links in one post, but sprinkles some affiliate links throughout your articles. When your posts get shared via Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media networks, people are actually working for you.
That is why it is important to be honest with your readers – they don't mind sharing your affiliate links if they trust you. So don't link to something just because it will make you money. Make sure you treat your blog like a business. Set affiliate marketing goals to help yourself stay on track.
My favorite (read highest-money-making) affiliates are Amazon.com and shareasale.com.
Bonus! Sign up for places like endorse. They pay you $1 for each person you refer, and they are useful apps (think coupons, saving money, etc) so everyone will want to use them!
Bonus! Affiliate marketing is made super simple and easy with VigLink. Say you are writing a post about the washer you got from Sears. Simply put that link or product name into VigLink and it will create an affiliate link for you! The best non-spammy way to make moolah. I started using it on one post just to test it out, and made $12 in less than a week. Imagine what would happen if you add it to 10 or 20 posts!

Awesome tips and resources! I found a few resources that I had not yet heard about. I’m always on the lookout for more ways to earn because the cost of living just keeps rising so darn much.

Great tips! I have wondered about a lot of these and am trying to revamp my blog to more than just a few reviews. I agree about the trust aspect and try to use affiliate links sparingly because I want to build that trust.
