Equipment

  • Spatula
  • Zip bags
  • parchment paper
  • Cookie sheet pan

Ingredients

  • Ready made cupcakes
  • Green chocolate
  • Red chocolate
  • Powdered Sugar for Icing
  • Egg whites for Icing
  • Food color depending on your preference

Instructions

  • Pour the melted chocolates into zip loc baggies and cut a very tinnnny hole in one end.
  • Put some wax paper (or parchment paper) on a cookie sheet, and go to town! Drizzle the chocolate, one color at a time, in any shape you want! (I did circles, triangles, and I even made Christmas trees. They didn't exactly look like Christmas trees, but I promise that is what they were.)
The key here is layers. You need to alternate the green and red, so the chocolate will not be so brittle once it freezes. Layer, layer, layer. I think I did 4 layers on most (2 of each color). When I did less, they broke.
  • After you're finished creating, place the cookie sheet in the freezer.

Ice your cupcakes.

  • Remove the chocolates from the freezer and pick them up off the parchment paper. They will be pretty sturdy if you put enough layers, but handle with care because once they're broken, they're broken!

Notes

Believe it or not, you can't mess these up! I do recommend putting the cupcakes (with the chocolate doo-dads) in the refrigerator until ready to serve, as the icing melts easily and the chocolate will droop. Again, trust me on this one! If you're bringing these to a holiday dinner, go ahead and put them in the freezer for a half an hour or so, before you leave.
