Best Black Bean Burgers

The most delicious black bean burgers ever!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans Bush’s black beans
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • cup bread crumbs
  • cup diced green bell pepper
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Burger buns
  • Toppings I used lettuce, guacamole, and tomato

Instructions

  • Drain and rinse beans, then hand mash in a large bowl using a fork or pastry cutter.
  • Add in rice, bread crumbs, bell pepper, cumin, chili powder, and half of the vegetable oil. Mix thoroughly.
  • Form into 4 large patties (size depends on your buns - you want it to fill the bun), and brush each with remaining oil.
  • Bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees, then finish off in the skillet by heating oil over medium-high, and saute for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Serve on buns and with your favorite toppings.
