How to Make Business Cards

This simple tutorial is going to show you How to Make Business Cards Using PicMonkey. You can make business cards by using pretty much any platform (including Word!), but PicMonkey is my favorite. I don't know how to work Photoshop, it's just way too complex for me, so I'm hoping if you're on the same page, this tutorial will help!

While you're here, be sure to check out all of my PicMonkey tutorials, plus learn 17 Things You Didn't Know You Could do With PicMonkey!

First, start with the right size. The size I use for business cards is 1100(wide)x700(tall). You will have to play around with sizes, depending on where you're printing your cards (every site has a different uploader/system), but this size works well for me. This article talks more about size, bleeding, printing, etc.

There are many things you can include on your business cards. With these cards, I kept it simple with my name (or blog name), tag line, and logo/design on the front. On back, I had all of my information.

You could put your logo in this space, or you could upload a headshot and a little info about yourself or your business/blog. It's completely up to you!

Because I change my look so often, I don't use headshots anymore – but they make your business cards look super professional. Use the majority of this space to describe your services or talk about your blog/business.

You don't have to include your phone number on your business cards, but you can set up a free Google Voice number like I did so people don't have your real number, but they can still get ahold of you to hire you.

As far as printing, you can print your own – just use this Avery paper. However, after you calculate the cost of the printer, ink, special paper, etc, it can get pretty expensive (and time consuming). Costs vary, but it cost me about $40 to get 1500 cards (front/back/color/gloss) from Staples (click my affiliate link to check prices for yourself!). I ordered online. You can also try Vistaprint… the deal I found was 250 cards for $9.99.
