Colorwear Party: Time to De-Stress
This post was sponsored by Colorwear as part of an In-Home Party Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.
Everything stresses me out. You see the title of this blog post? It stresses me out, because I'm like “Is it de-stress? Destress? Distress? No, not distress… de-..stress…yeah, go with it, Sadie.”
Everything. Stresses. Me. Out.
With that being said, you'd think hosting a party would stress me out, too, but it doesn't. Don't get me wrong! It can stress me out to an extent, but this party was an informal get together with a few friends and the main focus was de-stressing, so I tried to stay chill. I'm glad I did because the party was planned, cancelled, and rescheduled three times before it finally came together.
Tonight, we finally had our Colorwear party. We drank fresh lavender lemonade (Rach has the best recipe), noshed on pretzels and fruit, and finished up with brownie sundaes. The coloring portion of the party took a lot longer than we thought it would, so we sent the t-shirts home with each guest (plus an extra for their kids!) along with the Tulip Fabric Markers.
Colorwear t-shirts are dyed using organic dyes. The designs are printed with non-toxic, water-based inks.
You can't see in the photos, but there is a piece of cardboard inside the t-shirts just in case the fabric markers decided to bleed through (which they did!).
I can't say Apollo was too impressed with having to stay away from the table while we were coloring, but look at how freaking adorable he is.
The big thing about our Colorwear party was just focusing on relaxation. We sent the kids upstairs to play, put the two dogs outside (can't put all three outside together or it's like a war zone), and sipped our lemonade while chatting. Moms don't have a whole lot of time to catch up, especially without kids, so I try to plan events that are just for us moms.
Some of my friends seem to appreciate this while others get annoyed when I say “no kids allowed”, so tonight we allowed kids as long as they stayed upstairs! :) It was a win-win for everyone.
I know some moms don't believe in kid-free parties, but they're necessary for my sanity!
