Is your typical morning breakfast boring? Spice it up with this Chai Tea Oatmeal! So many amazing spices in this yummy oatmeal that is perfect for the upcoming fall season. Move over Pumpkin Spice…CHAI TEA is where it's at.



Chai Tea Oatmeal

Chai Tea Oatmeal

Delicious breakfast just in time for the fall season

  • ½ C. oats
  • ½ C. almond milk
  • ¼ C. water
  • 2 tea bags
  • Coffee filter and string
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 7 cardamom pods
  • ¼ tsp black peppercorns
  1. Crack the peppercorns a bit in a mortar and pestle (or a bowl with the back of a spoon).
  2. Do the same with the cardamom.
  3. Add the peppercorns and cardamom to a coffee filter with the nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger.
  4. Tie with string.
  5. In a medium pot, add almond milk, water, tea bags and coffee filter with spices.
  6. Steep over low heat for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Remove the tea bags and coffee filter packet. Discard.
  8. Add oats and turn heat up to low-medium.
  9. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Lower the heat if it starts to boil.
  10. Enjoy!
  11. Optional: top with a splash of almond milk.
