As you know, I’m part of the Shaklee/Cinch program with 50 other bloggers and we are all on a journey to lose weight and/or tone up, and get healthier. We get a shake for breakfast, then a shake or meal bar for lunch, and a sensible dinner. If you’d like, you can find out more about the Cinch Program.
Shaklee challenged us this month to get out and walk. That’s hard to do when it’s 100+ and disgustingly humid here in the Midwest, but last night I took a walk and made it almost two miles. I took quite a few photos, and had lots of fun. This one was my favorite. Keep in mind these photos were taken with a phone, while walking, so they’re kind of blurry.
This morning, I woke up at 6:30 and walked for 30 minutes. I took a gorgeous view of the sunrise. It wasn’t too bad until I rounded the corner and the sun was RIGHT on me. Then it got hot, fast!
After my walk this morning, I was pretty tired. Like I said, it got hot really fast! I took the dog with me and she was really worn out. So, we came home and got some rest. I worked on my swaps and cleaned up a little bit. Then, I got a wild hair up my butt and wanted to take the kids to have a picnic at the park. Fun, right? :)
I brought my 3 pound weights and while the kids were eating, I walked around the field they were sitting in, and got some more exercise in! They wanted to walk with me, so we ended up doing a lap around the park together, and finding a gorgeous flower patch.
Then, they played on the play ground and I walked around the perimeter. When I got near one of them, they’d cheer for me. I was sweating my butt off!!
30 minutes later, my walk was finished and we came home to relax some more. I am hoping I have the energy to do another 30 minutes tonight. This weight WILL come off. I’m SICK of it hanging around! So, I need a challenge. I did 100 miles on my bike for my birthday. What about 100 miles of walking in 30 days? That may be too hard… hmmm.

Melissa Bybee-Fields - I really want to start walking. I sit at my job and sit at my computer to blog. I don’t think the little bit of housecleaning and laundry I do will count as exercise. You’ve inspired me, I’m going to set my alarm early and take a walk before work tomorrow!

Lisa Collins - Over the next 30 days I would love to see you share some great ways to freshen up water. I find it boring after days and days so it would be fun to have some new variations or fresh fruit or frozen fruit to add to waters.
Crystal - How about a swimming challenge? Not sure what the amount should be…lol maybey it could be 50 miles in 30 days?
SlapDashMom - Guess I should have specified that I don’t have access to a pool. :/ Thanks for the suggestion though! I think that’d be fun.
SlapDashMom - I did the bike thing for the 100 miles, it got kind of boring after a while but that was the stationery bike. MAYBE.. just maybe.. I could attempt the regular bike. I don’t even know if I can ride a bike.. haha. I’m going to get it out of storage this week and try it.
regina malloy - I use to walk everday :( i really need help getting back into it!!! thanks!! will check it out!!
Becky Ryan-Willis - I love how you incorporated your camera into the walk! You are awesome!

Petula - Wow! You did great! That’s a lot of walking. (I’m not gonna mention how jealous I am that you’re doing Shaklee … I applied too and didn’t get it. BOO! LOL)
Hmmm? A challenge? What about some sort of strength training: Like do five push ups the first day, 10 the second, etc. (Or increase by 5s) Or use hand weights and increase by fives or twos each day in bicep curls, tricep curls, etc.
Good luck!

I can’t even do ONE push-up yet lol but I could work on it. :)
Sarah Welte - I love it that you took pictures while walking. And I think you could totally do 100 miles in 30 days! You seem to have a good support team, and that is what’s important! Maybe if I see you doing it, I will finally get off my butt and do it too!

amanda - I think that you could do the 100 miles in 30 days because it seems like there isn’t much that you can’t do! You’d be surprised how fun you could make it and get the kids involved. I seriously need to get my rear end in gear. When the kids start pre-k this fall. I will have a whole 2 hours a day to myself. I could totally start a plan to loose some of this weight. Thanks for the inspiration.

I will shoot for the early morning stroll or the close to dusk tomorrow. Tonight, the sit ups and some dancing. Yeah for you and the shakes! Shake it shake it!
