What is a Type-A parent?
When searching for a technical answer to this question, I wasn’t turning up much luck. According to some random internet folks, a Type-A parent is
“usually very stressed feels like everything is up to her. puts pressure on her self over everything worries about things that are not even in her control, Nothing i do will ever be as good as she does it in her eyes. but on the positive side very organized always knows whats going on had a good grasp on whats going on with the kids picks up on things before every one else great when we go to the doctors because she is so observant. but mainly a control freak has to know whats going on at all times. Type A is a blessing and a curse.”
Well, when ya put it that way…
Just kidding. :) I am totally a Type-A parent and that is alright! The only part I don’t fit is the organized part, but I try to be.. really, I do. Even though I have a wonderfully supportive partner, and very helpful kids, I still feel like everything is up to me. If something fails, or isn’t running smoothly, it’s my fault. It affects my day if the schedule I create is off by even a little bit – but again, I’m working on it!
I think the good thing about being a Type-A parent is that you are very involved with your kids. Maybe not quite a helicopter parent, but close. A parent that makes sure the kids do the homework… a parent that is at every soccer game… a parent that knows what their kids are up to because they talk to them every day. That’s the type of parent I am, and that is why this Type-A Conference is perfect for me.
So what’s this conference thingie you mentioned?
The Type-A Parent Conference 2012 is approaching quickly! I would love to get together with other parents that have similar philosophies (and quirks!), and have a great time. I love that there is a conference for parents like us!
Type-A Parent Conference is designed to help social media/blogging parents and the companies who want to connect with them take it to the next level.

Determined Momma - I am most definitely a type-a parent! One of the reasons I was so excited to become a work-at-home-momma was because I could be more involved with the boys’ lives.

Elizabeth Towns - I am a Type A parent, some of the time. Is that a realistic thing? I do think everything is up to me, and I am a scheduler, list maker, check and recheck, homework warden, meeting maker, extra income seeking, you will have fun during fun time, oh-but look how beautiful you are, type of mom. Sometimes I am internally frantic and externally poised. Yep, I am Type A, sometimes.

Jen - Life With Levi - Um, yeah. There’s a reason my new nickname is The Alpha Wife. I’m sooo type A it’s rediculous. And it drives Jason crazy, but that’s ok because the things I’m neurotic about, he’s totally laid back on and vice versa.
