My post is a day late, sorry! I’ve been busy playing with my Twice Loved Finds. If you have any that you’ve discovered this week, I’d love for you to add your link to the bottom of this post. I love looking at stuff other people find!
This week was exciting for me because I found loads of books! I won’t bore you with all of them but I will show you my favorites.
The first one is called 1001 Tips for Teens: A fabulous bonanza of cool, kooky, far-out and foolproof ideas by Paul Steiner. This one is in pretty rough shape so normally I’d pass it by, but some of the tips in this book made me laugh out loud in the store, so I had to grab it. At our Goodwill, books are on 39 cents a pound and it’s a small paperback so I paid less than the original 1960s price of $.50!
“If you’re looking for a new sport, try tennis. National surveys show that more girls have met their future husbands at tennis than any other game!” Yes, that’s a real tip from 1001 Tips for Teens. Hilarious. :D
I like this book so much that I am actually working on an entire post dedicated to it, so check back later this week to see the finished product. I’m going to put some of the “tips” to the test, and see how well they work. *giggle*
Next up is a book that my 7 year old really wanted. I remember reading these books as a kid, so of course I couldn’t say no. I think we currently have 5 bookshelves in our house – we may need another if we keep going to Goodwill.
Do you remember Encyclopedia Brown
?
Rachel loves to cook (check out her brand new blog, The Temperamental Chef), so I brought home a Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book. But not just any BH&G cookbook… one with tons of old newspaper clippings and hand-written recipes inside! She’s so excited to try them out.
I don’t know what year it’s from… maybe the 70s or early 80s… but I am so glad that food photography has improved since then because none of the food in that book looks even remotely appetizing!
Now, onto the real meat tofu and potatoes asparagus of the entire shopping trip…
.
Before you ask, no… I do not have a record player
– yet. BUT… I want one. And I asked Rachel for one. So I will hopefully be getting one soon. :)
The Monkees!! 2 records for under $1 a piece. Records are $.79 a pound… so, SUPER CHEAP!
Only to be topped by…
The Beatles!!!
.
The freakin’ Beatles! I got Beatles records (and little magazine type thingies) for under $1! AHHHH!! Okay so maybe you don’t LOVE The Beatles as much as we do here at my house, but OMG!! I’m so excited. :) So so soooo happy I went to Goodwill this week.
Now, it’s your turn to link up! What did you find this week?
