*Possible spoilers* I saw this movie in theaters a week before it came out, but I had to wait until 5/4 to post the review. :)

To be honest, I’m not really into comic books or movies. The Hulk was good, Ironman was alright, but outside of that, I was just never interested. When I got a chance to see The Avengers last week, I jumped on it just because everyone was talking about it. I saw that Joss Whedon was the producer, and I knew it had to be great. Was I right?

^^One of my favorite scenes!

BAM!

The Avengers is quite possibly the best super hero movie I’ve ever seen. Definitely worth seeing in theaters, in 3D!! I normally don’t like 3D movies, so just trust me when I say to splurge and see it in 3D.

3D. Is a Must. Just do it.

Of course The Avengers has something for everyone. The eye candy for the women (Hello Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Hawk Eye, and heck.. even the Hulk – in human form of course!), and the action for the men. You’ve got Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr. vs. Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth. Captain America, played by Chris Evans, Thor vs. Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, and much more.

The movie DEFINITELY gets 5 stars – if I could give it more, I would.

Wait, what am I saying? This is my blog, I can do whatever I want!

The Avengers gets 1000000 stars!!

So maybe I’m being dramatic but I am hoping you realize the seriousness of the situation here.. GO see the movie! :)

Side Notes

There were one or two parts that were kind of slow moving, I think if about 15 minutes would have been cut out of the movie, it would’ve been perfect.

This movie is safe for kids – it’s rated PG-13 for violence but it’s not like today’s violence. It’s old school super hero “violence”. I’m pretty anal when it comes to what I let my kids watch, and this is on the “yes” list for sure. It’s fun, it’s attention grabbing, and there’s no kissing scenes (score!).

I must say, the Hulk ROCKED this movie out. In a big way. And I haven’t laughed out loud at a movie theater that much in a long time. The comedy was an unexpected twist on the movie that I truly enjoyed.

As the Denver Post said, The Avengers is two-plus hours of visual brawn, unexpected heartbeats and welcome humor.

Sha - We have tried to avoid going to the theater to watch this (money!) but I have a feeling we might just splurge, like you suggest, and go. This could be the very first movie we take our youngest to. Sounds like an action packed movie!!

Leila - Interesting… thanks for the review! I guess it doesn’t sound *as bad* as I thought it was going to be. I’m not really into the comic book movies either. Although I recently watched The Hulk and was sucked in. Still haven’t seen any of the others… might have to please the hubby and go see it with him!
