About two weeks ago, I stopped using the Shaklee and Cinch products. I had tried the program faithfully for about a month, and didn’t lose a single pound – or inch. I was beyond frustrated. I wasn’t eating enough calories, so I quit the Cinch for a few days, upped my calories, and lost two pounds! I was excited! I went back on the program, and kept my calories a little higher than before, but gained those 2 pounds back – and then some. I was working out, eating healthy foods, taking the Shaklee supplements, drinking TONS of water, and at a stand still with my weight loss. To be quite honest, I was pissed. Before I started the weight loss program, I had lost a few pounds, so Cinch put a halt on my weight loss and I was mad – at myself for signing up for a program when I knew I could do it on my own.
I know Cinch works for some people – out of the 50 bloggers that are participating, a few ARE losing a lot of weight! I know our bodies are all different, and that has a lot to do with it, but I really just needed to show you guys that you can lose weight on your own without spending $300 a month on weight loss products, so I quit Cinch.
Since Quitting Cinch…
The program helped me a lot with motivation. The group got me walking and I’m thankful for that because I have never walked outside before for exercise, and I needed that push! So I am still walking almost every night, I’m still drinking a ton of water, and I’m eating healthy foods. The other day, I had a mocha frappe. Yesterday, I had four Rolos. I’m not depriving myself by any means, just making healthier food choices and using moderation. I would usually eat like 15 Rolos, and get a large mocha. But I got a small and it satisfied my sweet tooth and my coffee craving, without all of the calories.
My walks
I have been walking at least 2 miles each night. I aim for 3 or 4 but sometimes it doesn’t work out that way. I generally burn 600-800 calories if I walk for an hour. I have been going to the gym at least 3 times a week, for 30 minutes, at 6AM. I am NOT a morning person. I HATE the gym. But I know I have to do it, so I do it.
My current weight
I weighed in this morning. I started Cinch at 246.6. I lost the 2 pounds and then gained them back, and was up to 248.0 pounds. Please ignore my Shrek feet – I keep them in the photos so you guys know it’s me each time! :)
239.6 pounds – 7.4 pounds lost!
In a little under 2 weeks, I’ve lost SEVEN pounds! I’m so excited. And actually, the first week I was off Cinch, I lost nearly 6 pounds. So this last week was only a 2 pound loss, but that’s MUCH better than I was doing ON the program, so I have to say that even though I’m thankful I was given the opportunity to win $10,000 by sticking with Cinch, I had to let it go. $10,000 is not worth my health. It’s not worth me being dishonest. I had to get on track with my weight loss and I think I finally found my groove! My goal weight is 200 pounds. After I get there, I will reevaluate, so that means I only have 40 pounds left to lose. I started with needing to lose 60!! I am so happy!
You guys motivate me! The comments, the emails, the responses on Facebook, YOU are what pushes me to get off my ass, so please keep it up! I appreciate it more than you know!!
I will be posting new photos in a week or two! Did you see my BEFORE photos yet?

Hailey Stuckart - It only makes sense, we gain weight the *old fashioned way* -we ought to put in the work and lose it that same way. It’s all about lifestyle changes and you have shown yourself that you CAN do it…..and you are well on your way.
And yay for you, for knowing when a program just isn’t working for you and having the guts to step back and do what you can. You’ll get to your goal in no time!
Heather - GREAT job!!! I love seeing your updates on your weight loss! I need to start posting more on that so I feel more accountable. Guess it’s time to get a scale for the house…
fyi, if you ever need a laugh, ask me about my Maury moment at the Vital Records office. If I had your phone number, I so would have called you immediately!

Kate - I was on Weight Watchers and Hydroxycut for 5 months and I only dropped 6 pounds and lost 0 inches. Gonna stop drinking soda, eating more fresh fruits and veggies, and do some mommy/toddler workouts! Hopefully that will help!
