SmartStarting Your Day Just Right

It’s February, it’s cold, and you have to drive your kids to the bus, go to work, run errands, or whatever it is you do first thing in the morning.  Your car is cold, the windshield is iced over, and you do NOT want to get into an ice cold car…  So, what do you do?  You could make the hubby, girlfriend, wife, whomever do it for you, but that really doesn’t solve the problem, now does it?

I have the solution!  Viper has a great new product called SmartStart!  There are two remotes…one that fits on your keychain, and one that you can use while you’re still in bed when your keys are still hanging up, or on the counter.  It’s your Smartphone!  With any Android, iPhone, iPad, you can start your vehicle, track it, lock, unlock, and so much more!

I got to review the Viper SmartStart for my Chevy Suburban, and we LOVE it!  No more cold truck in the mornings, and since we leave the defrost/heat on the night before, I no longer have to find the scraper to get rid of the ice.  The kids love it, too, because they can turn the car on and off from the warmth of the house, without having to let them mess with the keys, or mess up the ignition by turning it over too long.  If you’re worried about running yourself out of gas, the starter shuts off after 20 minutes, so if you forget about it, it will shut off.  It also doesn’t go anywhere without the keys :).  I can also watch my boyfriend’s return home, or check to see if “I’m on my way” is just something he’s telling me to shut me up, or if he’s really on his way.  I’m in no way a stalker, but it’s nice to know.  You can also use it to check to see if you’ve left your trunk, or your doors open with just the click of a few app buttons.

Oh, and you know, you go to the zoo and you’re car is just one of hundreds in the vast parking lot.  That stinks, no?  Well, now you can change all of that!  Set your alarm, take a picture of your vehicle with your phone, and the app saves your exact GPS coordinates!  No more walking for 20 minutes through aisles and trying to open the wrong door!  Now you know where your vehicle is.

More interesting features…  The remote that hangs on your keychain, will tell you how warm your car is.  Simply click through the menu until you get to temperature, and click the corresponding button.  If someone tries to steal your car, not only will your alarm go off, but the system will send your smartphone a text…and you can GPS your vehicle to find out where they’ve taken it.  Pretty amazing if you ask me!
