With school starting (or already started, in our case), it’s time to start gathering supplies for packing school lunches. Even if you aren’t planning on packing your child’s lunch every day, it’s a good idea to have a back-up in case they’re serving something at school that your kids don’t like. We are vegetarians, and even though our school says they have a vegetarian lunch option, they never actually do (their idea of a vegetarian option yesterday was a melted ham and cheese, and they told my girls to pick the ham off).
So, packing school lunches is a must in our house. Gracelynn has sensory issues, so she can’t stand for any of her food to touch each other – and I don’t blame her, I’m the same way. I bought each of the girls a little lunch container, but unfortunately when the box moves around in their backpack, it mixes all of the foods together (including fruit juice with their trail mix – yuck!). When it comes to packing lunches, we like to be organized.
We really enjoy packing lunches with the Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit because you get to keep everything separate. We very rarely pack actual sandwiches, so we use the bigger portion of the kit for our tortillas or bagels – or whatever grain we decide on for that day. The medium sized container holds mixed fruit or chips of some sort. The smallest containers hold grapes, dip, or trail mix. I love that the containers are portioned out, so you can have a little of this and a little of that. It keeps lunch time interesting. I also love that the containers are leak-proof so I don’t have to worry about fruit juice spilling all over their lunch bags.
The LunchBlox containers snap together, on top of a uniquely designed ice pack, to save space in their lunch bags. They help us pack a healthy lunch with lots of variety.
Rubbermaid LunchBlox is microwave-, dishwasher- and freezer-safe as well as BPA-free, which are all important to us. Well, minus the dishwasher since we don’t have one of those. :) The LunchBlox Sandwich Kit is currently available for purchase at Rubbermaid.com, Target, Kmart, Kroger, Safeway, Bi-Lo, Winn-Dixie, HEB, other grocery stores and select Wal-Mart stores. Suggest retail price is ONLY $12.99!

Though Rubbermaid sent me the LunchBlox Sandwich Kit to review, as always, opinions are 100% my own. We love the LunchBlox so much that we are buying two more sets so each of the girls can have their own. They’re very handy, sturdy, and I love that they all snap together with an ice pack in the middle!
