*WARNING:SOME CURSING*
It’s no surprise that I hate Spin Class, but what is surprising is that I’m starting to love it. I mean, not really love it.. but I love to hate it.. :)
Today was my second Spin Class. Read about my first experience with Spin Class to catch up.
I really started to think today’s class just wasn’t meant to be. It was raining, the dog wouldn’t go outside to go potty for me, then she got out of her harness and ran down the street. I slammed my leg into the corner of a table trying to get outside to catch her. Then when we finally got situated and arrived at the gym, I realized I forgot my ID – gotta have the ID to drop the kid off. They let me use my Six Flags season pass instead, thankfully.
Before class, I got the bright idea to purchase a gel seat to cover the hard ass tiny little seat they have. I was excited to try it out and hopefully spare my poor lady parts during class. Er, yeah, what a joke. Biggest waste of $20 ever. The gel seat did not feel any different than the regular seat did. Thankfully, we didn’t sit down much during this Spin Class.
She started us off with not a warm-up, but a hard core racing pace. I was like “Are you serious?”. Why I wore a sweatshirt is beyond me. So we are all getting warmed up, riding, etc. I’m watching the clock, as usual, because it’s my only saving grace. At about 9:30, it was so hot in there that the mirrors all fogged up and I couldn’t see the clock anymore. So I had no idea how much longer the class was.
Death by Spin.
Finally, the instructor said we had one song left before “recovery”, aka cool-down. It was the longest song ever, of course, but when it was finally over we all cheered! Then the bitch lovely instructor said “I’m not down for an actual cool-down. We are going to do this last song, but you’re going to GET UP AND RIDE!!” Um, excuse me?? What?? I’m dead already! What are you DOING to me?
So, we finish the last song and I’m ready to hop off my bike. She starts a slow song and says we are going to do a few stretches. Cool, I can handle that. About 30 seconds into the stretches, evil bitch decides “Hey, I have a new song, do you guys wanna try it real quick??” And of course we are all going “noooo…” but some peppy chick in the front of the class goes “YES!!”. Luckily she wasn’t close to me. I would’ve stabbed her. Stabbed. Her.
All songs are finished and we do the stretches. I can barely move to get off my bike. I’m soaked in sweat and just want to pass out. It was like a sauna up in that class, it was really insane.
I hate Spin Class, but I love it.
I burned between 800 and 1000 calories in one Spin Class. So even though I absolutely hate it, I love that I burned enough calories to eat something good at the parties I’m going to tonight. (#talkituptanga #bloggybootcamp)
