This is crazy because I have never been a movie person. Ever. I had like 3 favorite movies as a kid, and I watched them over and over for years. I never changed, never cared about new movies, etc. That carried over into adulthood and I still have my favorite movie from childhood (The Parent Trap), and I watch it frequently. However, lately I have not been able to ignore the INSANELY AMAZING movies that are coming out!
My girls and I lovvvvve to learn about Abraham Lincoln, so when I saw the movie LINCOLN was coming out in November, I was kind of like… hmm, is this going to be a good movie? Or am I going to be like “That’s not how Abe Lincoln was!” (as if I knew him personally). This movie is on my “MUST SEE” list, and it should be on yours, too!
LINCOLN focuses on the last four months of the president’s life and the political strategizing he undertook at the close of the Civil War to ensure that slavery would be forever outlawed. “Our movie is really about a working leader who must make tough decisions and get things done in the face of overwhelming opposition,” Spielberg says.
LINCOLN is a DreamWorks, Twentieth Century Fox, Participant Media production opening in limited release November 9, expanding November 16, 2012.
