NAIL FILES SEASON 2 AIRS ON SUNDAY’S AT 8:00 P.M.

I had the amazing opportunity to sit down and chat with Katie Cazorla, star of the original reality series, Nail Files, last week – and I was blown away with her awesomeness! I hadn’t heard of the Nail Files show until I saw the press release, but I’m glad I sat down and talked to her. I always feel like most reality TV stars are more out of touch with reality than anything, but Katie Cazorla was pretty bad ass. She cussed as much as I do, which is a rarity for a female. ;)

Haven’t heard of Nail Files?

“Nail Files” follows blonde bombshell Katie Cazorla as she juggles Hollywood’s celebrity-filled nail salon and her relationship with fiancé Walter Afanasieff, a Grammy® award-winning music legend who has written and produced hits for Mariah Carey, Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion and is 20 years her senior. In the second season, Katie aspires to take The Painted Nail to the next level. She recently expanded her salon to include a hair and make-up boutique and is attempting to open a franchise location and create a line of branded nail accessories for the retail market, all while tending to her celebrity clients and trying to manage her bickering staff. Katie’s life may seem glamorous, but keeping all the balls in the air without stumbling is a daily challenge.

Katie opened up to us about some of her clients, like a VIP 3 year old, and some hard core rappers that get their nails done. Katie is from New York but resides in California. She opened her nail shop, knowing she wanted to offer an amazing experience – great atmosphere, free drinks, and affordable all in one.

I asked Katie about exercising and staying in shape. Her philosophy: “If I can’t wear heels, I’m not doing it”. We were all laughing the entire time we were talking to her, probably because she used to be a stand-up comic (for 8 years!). The constant negative feedback had taken its toll.

At first, Katie said no to being on television. She didn’t like the idea of it, but after 8 months of negotiating, she agreed to do Nail Files. I’m glad she did, because it’s a great show that gets down to the nitty gritty about owning a business.

She had lived in her car for two whole months once moving to Los Angeles. She told us how to make gourmet ramen noodles and how getting her nails done, even while broke, made her feel a thousand times better.

TV Guide Network’s “Nails Files” Mobile Spa is traveling across the country bringing the excitement of the Hollywood salon experience and the energy of the series to different areas.
