Yes, I’ve officially lost my mind. I posted on Facebook a few times about the 5Ks I’ve been doing (walking), how hard they were – and how they’re getting a little easier. At least this last time, I didn’t feel like I was going to die. That’s a plus!

A few days ago, I announced that I was planning on doing a half-marathon in October of 2013. That gives me 14 months to prepare and train.
I’ve got this
Today, I visited a friend at the Supplement Superstore. I told him I needed to find some 10Ks to practice with, so I could be better prepared for my half-marathon next year. He looked at me, puzzled, and then gave me a challenge.
Do a half-marathon this year.
What the.. BLEEEEP? Are you kidding me? Hell no I’m not doing a half-marathon this year. It’s too cold in November and December, which gives me two months until October. No way you can train for a half-marathon in TWO months, when you are 240 pounds and barely able to do a 5K.
But I’m doing it. I’m doing a half-marathon THIS year!
I need sponsors for the $150 entry-fee, but I am confident that you guys will come through for me! There are lots of small businesses out there, friends, fans, etc that have been awesome at cheering me on. If I can come up with the $150 by mid-September, I’m definitely doing the half-marathon in October.
Training will be tough, if not impossible. It takes a LOT of time, and it’s a LOT of miles. My knees won’t allow me to run, but I have two feet and strong legs and I will be able to walk it. I’m so nervous. I feel like I’m going to puke. But with your support, I know I can do it. Cheer me on, will ya? ;)
