With three kids, and an extremely limited budget at times, beauty items are usually the last on the list to get purchased. While I love makeup, and have recently started to enjoy wearing it, I can’t justify buying $60 foundation when I’m only going to wear it a few times a week and it’s probably going to break me out anyway. My main focus when doing my makeup is my eyes. My eyes are my best facial feature, and I love accentuating them.
My must-haves for makeup are eye shadow, mascara, and an eyelash curler. When I found this eyelash curler from elf cosmetics for only $1 on my last shopping trip, I knew I had to get it.
It was all downhill from there, when I discovered that elf everyday cosmetics are so affordable, it’s ridiculous! When I saw the eyelash curler for $1, I took it to a price checker just to make sure I wasn’t being duped. I really couldn’t believe it was that inexpensive. Next, I grabbed a few makeup brushes that were also only $1. You can view my entire shopping trip in my Google Plus album. I got distracted a few times, as usual, but it was a super fun trip – and I got cheese sticks. :) Yum!
I went on a mini shopping spree, and ended up spending only $35 on all of my new makeup, plus some clay face masks, and aloe socks. Oh, and cheese sticks!
I got home and put some makeup on, because I was getting ready to go out for my friend’s birthday. I always keep my look fairly neutral, even though I like to use bright colors – I apply everything very lightly. The e.l.f. mascara works really well, and was only $1. I’ve spent up to $15 on mascara before, so this made me extremely happy!
I don’t wear makeup daily, but I do like to wear it when I can. If you had asked me a few years ago, I would’ve told you I never wear makeup, but in my old age I am learning to love it. I really like how elf products come in a variety of bright colors and styles to fit every look I like to create. It makes my beauty routine much simpler when I have the right products, and don’t have to feel guilty about the price tag.
Makeup is just one of those things that helps boost my confidence, and makes me hold my head a little higher!
While shopping for e.l.f. cosmetics at Wal-Mart, I found out that they’re not available at all stores yet, so you can get your own elf cosmetics at eyeslipsface.com. You can follow elf cosmetics on Twitter and on Facebook, for deals and specials, as well as makeup inspiration. I know I sometimes get stuck in a rut of doing the same makeup routine over and over again, so it’s nice to be able to see photos that can help me break out of that rut.
