Customizing shoes is SO much fun – use this easy DIY Glitter Shoes Tutorial to help you create your own.

Start with a pair of shoes of your choice. Clean the bottom/soles with rubbing alcohol, and let dry.

Paint the entire sole except for the part that you will be walking on*, and before it dries, add glitter. Let dry. If you missed any spots, paint them again, then glitter them again.

NOTE: It is best if you leave the very bottom of your shoe (the part where you walk on) UNCOVERED. I covered these for photos only. The mod podge/glue can make them slippery. I’m not responsible if you don’t heed my advice, and you break your neck! ;)

After the paint is dry, cover the glitter Mod Podge or Elmer’s glue. Let dry. Coat with glue or Mod Podge again.

When you’re finished, you have a beautiful sparkly shoe that you designed yourself! Imagine the possibilities!

Lauren - We have done this before on the whole shoe….for a fairy costume. We actually found this amazing glitter paint/glue at Joann’s that looked amazing! It helped because it was all in one step! I never thought to do just the bottom of shoes though! How neat!

Jill - This is looks like so much fun, I said I would help my niece with her Halloween costume and I think this would be perfect. She’s 9 and will think this is the best thing ever.

Shane Curtis - That’s really cool and unique.
I love the idea of putting the glitters on the bottom soles. I can even customize it whatever glitter colors I want. I gold glitters might be good too.

Mary - These turned out great! I’ve seen them done before only you mix the glitter into the mod podge first, then paint them, but I think that may make you waste a lot of mod podge.
