Hammers Food and Fun Sucked!

I try not to write negative reviews, but sometimes I think they’re necessary. This is one of those times.

Incredible Pizza has always been one of my favorite places to take my kids. It is kind of pricey with the whole family eating the buffet, and then playing games, but it has always been worth it. Tonight, however, just my Mom and I took the trip. She had never been to Incredible Pizza, so I told her we should try it.

Incredible Pizza in South County (Missouri) is now Hammers Food and Fun.

We arrived, and the manager (Monica) was chatting on her cell phone. She told us to hold on, by holding her finger up to us, while she chatted to someone about what they were doing this weekend. 2 minutes later, she finally had another crew member come wait on us. The crew member was busy trying to clean stuff up, but she stopped what she was doing to wait on us. Crew member’s name was Kelli. She was very professional, and cheery. :)

Our first stop was the plates. The first three I grabbed were dirty. My mother picked up a dirty plate as well. Um, yuck!

Finally finding a clean plate, we headed to the pizza area. Upon arriving to the buffet, we saw five pieces of pizza. They were all clearly cold, and old. We asked the woman (bleach blonde very short hair, no name tag) to make us a few pizzas. She was clearly uninterested in doing so, and walked away without acknowledging us.

All of the rooms were closed off except for the theater room with the creaky old (very uncomfortable) wooden chairs. That was disappointing, as one of our favorite parts about the entire Incredible Pizza experience was always sitting in the 50s diner room!

Most of the desserts were just as stale as the rest of the food, unfortunately.

The one thing that was good about the experience was the cinnamon rolls. The ones that were in the container were dry, hard, and stale, so I asked one of the employees if they could put a new batch out. They did, and the cinnamon rolls were actually tasty. That was pretty much what our dinner ended up consisting of.

On our way out, my Mom had to use the restroom so we made our way to the bathroom area. The hallway was dirty, and we were sticking to the floors.

We were walking out to leave, after a very frustrating experience, and I decided I’d talk to the manager about it. I approached her and asked what her name was, and she refused to give it to me. The other employee that was actually nice did give me her name – it was Kelli. Again I asked the manager her name and she said she’d give me the other manager’s name (who wasn’t even at the establishment tonight). After asking three times, and getting the hint that I was not taking “no” for an answer, she finally told me her name was Monica.

Overall, as you can see, our experience was very rotten. We should have just left, but I was hungry – and we paid $10 each to eat, so we stayed there and tried to make the best of it.

Obviously I’m not the only one that feels this way. Hammers Food and Fun took over just a short time ago and they are already feeling the wrath of unsatisfied customers on Yelp.com. The problem is, you can’t even leave a review for Hammers – it still says Incredible Pizza. So new folks that are visiting don’t even have a way to sound off against the horrible customer service. I guarantee with service and food like they’re dishing out, they will not be in business at this location for very long.

Sadly, I think we paid our final visit to this place.

We used to enjoy ourselves at Incredible Pizza despite the mediocre food. Since the changeover to Hammer’s, the food is less than mediocre and you might well have to bring your own dishes and silverware because they are VERY hard to come by these days.

My kids used to love to chow down on the pizza and desserts but they barely ate anything this time – a slice or two of pizza (after they picked them over to remove the offensive toppings) and half of a soggy ice cream cone. They didn’t even want any soda because all three machines were out of ice.

If I could minus a star I would make this a -10. First of all, they have changed their name. They are now called Hammers. One of the very young teenagers working there, told me it was the same place (but new owner) May I just say this owner has no business working with children. He is mean spirited, condescending and insulting.

horrible just horrible…spent 50 dollars for only two pizzas on the buffet, under cooked noodles, and melted ice cream that none of the workers wanted to clean up…and when we asked for the manager he avoided us!!! I didn’t even want my money back! After the rude service and poorly cared for restaurant we can assure you we’ll never come back!

The quality of food has gone way down since the change from Incredible Pizza to Hammers. The pizza was “okay” but not great. If there was any pizza on the buffet, that is. We had to wait 10 minutes for them to get pizza out. The salad bar was very disappointing also…only the cheapest items and again, very little lettuce on the buffet. Desserts were another area that has suffered. The ice cream was more like frozen milk….no cream in it. The cinnamon buns were the only edible thing on the dessert bar. I purchased the kids a 90 minute unlimited card. Only, there were limitations….some of the games were restricted. They were disappointed that they were unable to play some of the games on this so-called unlimited special. The kids did have fun despite the limitations, but I’m not going back until the food improves.

The food was terrible. I’m NEVER one to complain, but this was TERRIBLE. Nothing was worth eating! Again, I’m NOT a picky person. I paid $50 for my kids to eat cinnamon rolls (which were the only edible thing they had) and drink water while watching Looney Tunes. We paid for soda but ALL of the soda (except diet) was out. I alerted the employees who just stared at me when I requested that ONE of the 12 (I KID YOU NOT) fountain drinks be replaced. There was an employee cleaning off a few of the tables who would NOT acknowledge my kids telling her “hi”. I became a bit uncomfortable for them thinking she was perhaps hearing disabled; but when she was able to talk with her friends even with her back turned to them I came to the realization she was just rude. My kids are 3, 4, and 6… why not just say “hi” back? I really wish I had taken pictures, and am completely frustrated I am out so much stinking money. Outings like this only happen once in a while since I’m not made of money and have so many kids. These trips are “special” to us.

I don’t recommend visiting Hammers Food and Fun in South County, because of the experience I had there. If you visit and have a different experience, I’d love to hear about it. I was really hoping the manager would apologize and offer us a refund after we told her how unsatisfied we were, but instead she was rude and rolled her eyes when I asked for her name! Customer service should be #1, and it definitely wasn’t at Hammers Food and Fun.
