We have been putting off moving the twins from their infant car seats to convertible seats because we’ve been trying to figure out the best way to get out of the house and run errands with all the kids. But Charlie is over 22 lbs and Zoe is pushing 17 lbs so those infant car seats are getting heavy! I started researching convertible car seats I quickly found that Britax was the brand that we needed to get.

Britax has been a leader in the car seat industry for years offering a full line of child seats including infant car seats, convertible car seats, combination seats, and booster seats. Britax also designs and manufactures strollers and baby carriers.

After comparing the various convertible car seats I knew that the Britax Roundabout 55 was the perfect one for us.

Britax Roundabout 55 Review

I love that it is a rear-facing car seat that fits a child 5-40 lbs; as I’m sure most of you have heard that it is best to have your child in a rear-facing car seat until the age of 2. And while it is in forward-facing position it fits a child up to 55 lbs! Landon, our 6-year old, is only 45 lbs and 46 inches tall, so technically the Britax Roundabout 55 convertible car seat would fit all four of our kids!

Another feature that I found unique was that it can recline for child comfort and positioning. This is particularly great for the twins because they still take a bottle when we go on long car trips up to our relatives’ homes and being able to have them safely reclined a bit definitely helps them out since they haven’t mastered the whole tipping the head back while drinking thing yet!

I highly recommend checking out Britax’s Product Videos to see how all the features of the Britax Roundabout 55 help protect your child while they are in their car seat!

There are some great fabric choices for the Britax Roundabout 55; I knew this car seat would be for Zoe and I wanted it to be girly and the Roundabout 55 in Isabella was exactly what I was looking for!

I love the soft pink and the beautiful gray and pink floral pattern.

Before I came across the Britax Roundabout 55, I had not seen a convertible car seat that had a base with SafeCell Technology. To be honest with you, I was sold right then and there!

Zoe almost weighs 17 lbs and is approximately 28 inches long. She fits perfectly in her Britax Roundabout 55 – Isabella.

I love that soft strap covers that match the rest of the car seat and I know that Zoe is strapped in securely with the 5-point harness.

It was incredibly easy to install our Britax Roundabout 55 in our minivan. I think Zoe likes being more upright while in the car, that way she can see Landon and Keeley in the back and even turn to see Charlie in the seat next to her!

Are you unsure of what car seat would be best for your child? Britax has their “Fit My Child” section of their website that helps you find the perfect car seat for your little one. Simply put in your child’s measurements and they will suggest car seats that would fit your child. You can select to compare car seats to find which one is the perfect fit for your family.

BUY IT: You can purchase a Britax Roundabout 55 at great retailers such as Babies R Us, Amazon, and Target. You can also find accessories, including extra cover sets online through the Britax store.
