Best Black Bean Burgers
The most delicious black bean burgers ever!
2 cans Bush’s black beans
1 cup cooked rice
⅓ cup bread crumbs
⅓ cup diced green bell pepper
2 tsp cumin
½ tsp chili powder
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Toppings (I used lettuce, guacamole, and tomato)
Drain and rinse beans, then hand mash in a large bowl using a fork or pastry cutter.
Add in rice, bread crumbs, bell pepper, cumin, chili powder, and half of the vegetable oil. Mix thoroughly.
Form into 4 large patties (size depends on your buns - you want it to fill the bun), and brush each with remaining oil.
Bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees, then finish off in the skillet by heating oil over medium-high, and saute for 3-4 minutes on each side.
Serve on buns and with your favorite toppings.
