My mom was in the Air Force and has always been extremely patriotic, so Americana themed items were in all of the houses I ever lived in while growing up. When I was asked to throw an Americana party, I was all over it! My mom and I headed to World Market and I let her help me pick out some Americana items. After the party, I sent all of the items to her house. She was so excited!
We dipped the strawberries and pretzel rods in melted white chocolate chips, and sprinkled them with red and blue sugar sprinkles.
Mom had never been to Cost Plus World Market before, so it was quite the experience when we walked in. I love World Market and go there often, but it’s always a unique experience each time I go, because they change their items up so much! I absolutely love everything World Market has, and it was neat to see the Americana stuff displayed up front when we visited the store.
Though I’ve visited World Market quite a few times, I’ve never seen these little pie pops on a stick. They are so stinkin’ cute! I think they’d be fun to make for a USA themed party. When you visit World Market, it will be hard to fit everything you want into one cart. Well, it always is for me at least. I love the variety of items they have, because no matter what you like, there truly is something for everyone. I have had my eye on some giraffe statues, and Rachel has her eye on some of the paintings. They’re all beautiful and unique and that is what we love about this place!
To make the flag kabobs, I simply cut the strawberries in half and alternated them with angel food cake squares. For the stars, I used blueberries. I also put two half skewers of blueberries in between to make it fill out a bit more.
We picked up quite a bit at World Market and spent around $80. We got a metal picnic basket that I can’t wait to use, as well as lots of other Americana themed items. A small pillow that hangs on the door, a little spinny thing that you stick in the ground and the wind blows, some red white and blue napkins, a flag banner/bunting, some place mats (seen pictured above), red white and blue chips, and a handful of other things. It’s great when you can get specialty items at a price you can afford. That’s one of my favorite parts about shopping at World Market!
And while many of the party goers were camera shy, my girlfriend wasn’t. She was partying it up with World Market’s Americana sodas, made with pure cane sugar. They were only about $1.50 and the Black Cherry was our favorite.

So cute! Now you have me craving pretzel rods, but I’m afraid that if I make them, I will want to eat them!
